At the center of the show is Marty McFly, a Sparta, Tennessee native whose radio career spans more than four decades. After cutting his teeth in markets across the country — including Tampa, Nashville, Phoenix, and Greenville — Marty returned home to Tennessee in 1998 with a clear vision: to create a show that felt real, local, and deeply connected to its audience. That vision became McFly and the Ride.

From the very beginning, Marty was joined by his best friend and longtime broadcast partner, Stew James.
